Course Details
Course Material
The Texas Adult Driver Education course is made up of 10 lessons and meets the mandated 6-hour course length requirement. It covers everything from Texas driving laws to
the safest defensive driving techniques. In order for you to fulfill these 6 hours, the course employs timers that require a minimum amount of time be spent on each lesson.
Any time spent outside the current lesson (studying the Texas driver handbook, etc.) is not credited toward the time on the current lesson, though we do encourage you to
study outside materials such as this.
In addition to text, the course utilizes videos to enhance the student’s learning experience. This allows the student to engage with their course, rather than simply
reading blocks of text on a page. The course also includes a free and convenient audio read-along.
Payment
You will be prompted to pay during registration.
Quizzes and Final Exam
The course consists of 10 lessons in total. A short multiple-choice quiz is given after each lesson. You must answer at least three of the four questions correctly to
proceed to the next lesson. You can retake a quiz as many times as needed to pass.
At the end of the course, there is a 30-question final exam. The exam is multiple-choice, with half the questions covering road rules and the other half covering road signs.
You must earn a minimum score of 70% on each of these two sections in order to pass. Passing this exam exempts you from taking the written test at the Driver License Office.
You are allowed 3 attempts to pass this exam. If you fail your third attempt, you will be required to start the course over, including registration and payment.
Personal Validation Questions
As per Texas requirements, we must verify your identity throughout the course to ensure that you are in fact the one taking this Texas Adult Driver Education course.
Validation questions are based on personal information you provide us about yourself. You will be asked a question periodically throughout the course to verify your identity.
Student Evaluation
We want feedback on how we do. A student evaluation form is available at the end of the course. Please take a minute to complete it. We take your feedback seriously!
